Hyundai kona is launched in India on this July. Kona is the first electric suv in India with a Huge range of 452 km on a full charge battery.
Kona Electric Charging: The 50kW fast charger can charge the battery from 0-80 per cent in 57 minutes. The 7.2kW AC wall-box charger for home installation takes around 6 hours 10 minutes for a full charge. There is also a small, portable 2.8kW charger that can be plugged into a regular wall socket that would take around 19 hours for a full charge.
Driving modes: This EV uses a single-speed transmission and driving characteristics can be toggled via these modes - Eco, Eco+, Comfort and Sport. There are paddles behind the steering wheel to control the level of regenerative braking too.
Safety: Hyundai has equipped the Kona Electric with six airbags, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, hill assist control, disc brakes on all four wheels, ISOFIX child seat anchorage and a rear camera too. It also has a virtual engine sound system to warn pedestrians of the silent EV and a tyre pressure monitoring system too.
Interior: The Kona EV is a 5-seater SUV with a black interior and leather upholstery, headrests for all rear occupants, front central armrest with storage and 60:40 split folding rear seat.
Exterior: It gets LED bi-functional headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, roof rails, roof spoiler and 17-inch alloys.
Features: It is expectedly well equipped, given the pricing of this electric SUV. The Kona Electric comes with a sunroof, auto AC, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents and cruise control. It even gets a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
Infotainment: The Kona Electric uses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It also has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster for various types of information.
Kona Electric rivals: As far as its competition is concerned, the Kona EV will not have any direct rival in the Indian market until the launch of the MG eZS in December 2019.
Price: The price of Hyundai Kona is 23.71 lakhs to 23.91 lakhs ex showroom.
